Batang 28 June 2022 - Mangrove planting activities have been carried out in collaboration with PMI Kab. Batang which was held in Denasri Kulon Village on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. This Mangrove Planting activity was organized by the Community Service Division of HMPS Public Relations Undip PSDKU with the theme "Mangrove For Sea". We raised the theme of Mangroves for Sea in this work program, because Mangroves have functions that play an important role for the environment, one of which is Mangroves can hold sea water so as not to erode coastal land. However, Mangrove Plants not only prevent abrasion, but also play an important role in preventing the collapse of land due to sea waves.

PMI Batang Regency said that approximately 600 hectares of land have been filled with water, or what we usually call the country of attacking water.

Kegiatan Tanam Mangrove juga dihadiri oleh Tim PMI Kab. Batang, Dinas Perikanan, Dinas Kehutanan, Koramil, dan Perangkat Desa Denasri Kulon.

The Community Service Division also invites D3 Public Relations students from PSDKU University of Diponegoro Batang Campus to participate in Mangrove Planting activities. Participating students have planted as many as 70 Mangrove seedlings on the Beach of Denasri Village, Kulon Batang.

Mangrove planting activities are carried out from 08.00 – 12.000 WIB. At 08.00 we started gathering at the Mangrove School (Mang EC) which is located on Sigandu Beach. After everyone gathered we did the opening and remarks from the chairman of the Undip Public Relations HMPS, remarks from the chief executive, and remarks from the PMI Batang Regency. In addition to the welcome, we were also given a little knowledge about the types of Mangroves, where to plant mangroves according to the type of Mangroves, and also explained about the uses and benefits of mangroves.

After the opening ceremony at around 09.00, we headed to the planting location, namely in the village of Denasri Kulon, Batang. After arriving at the planting site, they were given instructions in advance on how to plant Mangroves by Mr. Denasri Kulon Village Apparatus, namely Mr. Taryoso and the PMI Team. After being given directions, the participants were invited to plant mangroves until the mangrove seedlings ran out. When the mangrove seeds have been planted, we gather and rest while eating and drinking what has been provided. After finishing eating and drinking, the event continued, which was closing at around 12.00.

“Participating in this Mangrove Planting activity is because I want to know more about mangroves and want to participate in protecting and loving the environment. Impressions and messages for Mangrove Planting activities, the impression is that it is very exciting to participate in Mangrove Planting activities besides being able to help and get a lot of lessons or new things, we can also find out about the benefits of Mangroves, Mangrove Types, and procedures for planting Mangroves.
