D3 PUBLIC RELATIONS PSDKU UNDIP Holds Dance Competition in Order to Generate Cultural Values

Wednesday, May 31 2023, Students of D3 Public Relations Study Program Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU) Batang Regency, Diponegoro University officially held the Catharsis Fest 2023 event with the theme "Awakening Culture, Uniting Diversity."

The dance art chosen aims to enable participants to actualize themselves, clear their minds and release their emotions through the art of dance, which is expected to awaken the cultural values that exist in society.

Through elimination online which had been held previously, the event resulted in 3 remaining finalists competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the top of the event. These 3 finalists came from Trunojoyo Madura University, Semarang State University, and Diponegoro University (main campus).

Departments from Batang Regency also attended the event as invited guests, including the Department of Education and Culture, the Department of Tourism and Sports, the Department of Communication and Information, the Regional Arts Council, and the Creative Economy Committee. Apart from the Department, residents around the campus, village heads and youth organizations also enlivened the event.

Chairman of the Study Program Management Institution Outside the Main Campus (LPPSDKU), Redyanto Noor said Catharsis Fest was event The first event to hold a national level dance competition.

"This activity is an extraordinary activity which is the first time it has been held on the biggest scale in my opinion so far and for the first time for the Batang Campus for the D3 Public Relations Program, hopefully this will be an inspiration and motivation for other PSDKU campuses," he said.

In addition to dance competitions, Catharsis Fest includes activities workshop culture and MSMEs from various businesses around Batang Regency, as stated by the Head of Bandar Subdistrict Muhammad Nasrudin in his speech regarding MSMEs which support the Indonesian economy,

"MSMEs are one of the things that support us. It could even be said that Indonesia has not become a bankrupt nation because yesterday there were MSMEs, it is MSMEs in Indonesia that can maintain the existence of a stable economy and even experience extraordinary increases," he said.

Muhammad Nasrudin also said that Catharsis Fest could be an inspiration and be preserved by future students and the community.

In the dance competition, the jury who had watched the performances of the finalists named Semarang State University as first place, Diponegoro University as second place, and Madura Trunojoyo University as third place.
